HubSpot pricing is quoted in US dollars, with a free tier for up to 2 users, Starter seats listed from $7 per seat per month, and Marketing Hub Enterprise from $3,600 per month. For a South African business the number that matters is the Rand total for year one, because Professional and Enterprise plans carry a required one-time onboarding fee on top of the subscription.
This post sets out HubSpot pricing South Africa buyers can budget against, converting the published list prices into Rand at R16.42 per US dollar. That is the SA Digital Cost Index (SADCI) calculation assumption for August 2026, not a live rate, so swap in today's rate before you budget.
If you are still deciding whether you need a CRM at all, our CRM software guide for South Africa comes first, and the prices below were read from HubSpot's own pages in October 2026.
Quick Answer
HubSpot pricing starts at $0 for up to 2 users. Starter is listed at $7 per seat per month on annual billing and $20 on monthly billing, Sales Hub Professional is $90 per seat, and Marketing Hub Professional is $800 a month plus a $3,000 onboarding fee. At R16.42 per dollar, five Sales Hub Professional seats cost about R113,298 in year one and R88,668 in year two. The Rand total moves with the exchange rate, because the prices are quoted in dollars.

Request a seat reviewHubSpot Pricing in Rand: What Each Plan Costs Per Month
HubSpot pricing in Rand is the dollar list price multiplied by the exchange rate, because the pricing pages we read in October 2026 show US dollars and do not mention the Rand. The table converts the published monthly prices at R16.42 per dollar; the sources are HubSpot's Marketing Hub pricing page and Sales Hub pricing page.
| Plan | Dollar list price | Monthly cost at R16.42/USD | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free (Sales or Marketing Hub) | $0, up to 2 users | R0 | A founder plus one colleague testing a pipeline |
| Starter seat, listed on annual billing | $7 per seat | about R115 per seat | Small teams who can commit for a year |
| Starter seat, listed on monthly billing | $20 per seat | about R328 per seat | Teams that need to leave without a contract |
| Sales Hub Professional seat, annual | $90 per seat | about R1,478 per seat | Sales teams that have outgrown Starter |
| Sales Hub Professional seat, monthly | $100 per seat | R1,642 per seat | Short-term needs only |
| Sales Hub Enterprise seat | from $150 per seat | from R2,463 per seat | Larger teams that need Enterprise controls |
| Marketing Hub Professional, annual | $800 per month | R13,136 | Teams with a marketing function and an email list to run |
| Marketing Hub Professional, monthly | $890 per month | about R14,614 | Rarely sensible: the premium is paid every month |
| Marketing Hub Enterprise | from $3,600 per month | from R59,112 | Larger organisations with 10,000 or more contacts |
Read the Starter row with care. HubSpot's Marketing Hub page marks its Starter price "New customers only" with offers available for a limited time, and it does not say what Starter costs once the offer ends. The Sales Hub page we read lists the same $7 and $20 pair without that caveat. Treat $7 as the best case and confirm the figure, and the billing term it applies to, on the day you buy.
Several of the other prices are listed on the pages as starting prices, so a quote can differ. The Free plan covers up to 2 users on both hubs, with no credit card required. What Does the HubSpot Onboarding Fee Add in Year One?
The HubSpot onboarding fee is a required one-time charge, charged when you buy Professional or Enterprise, that makes year one materially more expensive than year two. HubSpot's Marketing Hub page states that buying Professional or Enterprise automatically charges onboarding, and the Marketing Hub Starter plan does not require purchased onboarding. The Sales Hub page we read shows no Starter onboarding fee either.
Across the HubSpot pricing tiers we read, the fees are $1,500 for Sales Hub Professional, $3,000 for Marketing Hub Professional, $3,500 for Sales Hub Enterprise and $7,000 for Marketing Hub Enterprise. In Rand at R16.42 those are R24,630, R49,260, R57,470 and R114,940. Here is the year-one cost for two common profiles.
| Scenario | Inputs | Year one | Year two onward |
|---|---|---|---|
| Five Sales Hub Professional seats, billed annually | 5 × $90 × 12 = $5,400, plus $1,500 onboarding = $6,900 | R113,298 | R88,668 ($5,400) |
| Marketing Hub Professional, billed annually | $800 × 12 = $9,600, plus $3,000 onboarding = $12,600 | R206,892 | R157,632 ($9,600) |
Spread across twelve months, the five-seat Sales Hub Professional plan costs about R9,442 a month in year one, against R7,389 a month once onboarding is paid. The onboarding fee alone is about R2,053 a month in year one. The Marketing Hub Professional plan averages R17,241 a month in year one against R13,136 afterwards.
If you buy both Professional plans, the two onboarding fees come to $4,500, or R73,890, before the first month of subscription. We have not added the seat costs together, because how seats are shared across hubs should be confirmed on a written HubSpot quote.
Takeaway: Budget Year One and Year Two Separately
A HubSpot Professional plan costs more in its first twelve months than in any later year, because the one-time onboarding fee lands immediately. A cash-flow plan built only on the monthly price will be short by the full onboarding fee, so list the fee as its own line in the first-year budget.
Partner onboarding: ask, do not assume
Mo Agency, a HubSpot partner agency, states in a July 2026 article that when you onboard through a partner, HubSpot waives its direct onboarding fee and you pay the partner in Rand instead. That is a partner's statement and not something HubSpot's pricing pages say, so ask HubSpot to confirm it in writing on your quote and compare the partner's Rand fee with the dollar fee above.

Get a quote assessmentHow Do Marketing Contacts and Seats Change the Bill?
Marketing contacts and seats are the two meters that make a HubSpot invoice grow after you sign, and each works differently. Marketing Hub plans include a set number of marketing contacts: 1,000 on Starter, 2,000 on Professional and 10,000 on Enterprise. The Professional page says you can buy more at any time, but it does not show the price of extra contacts, so get that figure in writing before you import a large list.
The knowledge base makes one point that saves money: only marketing contacts count towards your contact tier and affect the cost of your subscription. HubSpot says contacts you do not plan to market to can be set as non-marketing contacts, which do not count toward the tier and are not charged for. Customers, suppliers and old leads you do not plan to email are candidates, and HubSpot's marketing contacts documentation sets out the rule.
Seats are the second meter. Marketing Hub Professional includes 3 core seats and charges $45 a month for each additional seat, about R739 at R16.42. Enterprise includes 5 core seats, with additional seats at $75. Contacts could turn out to be the larger cost on Marketing Hub, but HubSpot does not publish the extra-contact price on the page we read, so the seat count is the only priced meter you can budget today. Sales Hub is charged per seat.
Before you load contacts, check how the data will be handled under POPIA. Our post on CRM security and POPIA turns the Act into a checklist, and our CRM data migration guide covers what to clean before an import.
How Exposed Is the Bill to the Rand-Dollar Exchange Rate?
Every HubSpot plan is priced in dollars, so a Rand-earning business carries the exchange-rate risk on the whole subscription. The pages we read do not mention the Rand, and they do not state the billing currency for a South African account, so confirm it on your quote.
Exchange-rate exposure on HubSpot pricing is simple arithmetic. A Marketing Hub Professional plan on annual billing is $9,600 a year after onboarding, so each R1 change in the rate moves the yearly Rand cost by R9,600. At the index assumption the plan costs R157,632 a year; at any rate you choose, multiply $9,600 by that rate.
Billing term is the other lever. Marketing Hub Professional costs $890 a month when billed monthly against $800 on annual commitment, a difference of $1,080 a year, or about R17,734. For five Starter seats the listed monthly rate gives R1,642 against about R575 on the annual rate, a gap of R1,067 a month. Part of that gap may be the new-customer offer rather than a billing discount, so ask HubSpot what five seats cost after the offer ends. On Marketing Hub Professional the annual term is the cheaper listed route, and the saving is the price of giving up flexibility.
The Rand figures in this post are list prices and exclude any tax. Ask your accountant how South African VAT applies to a dollar invoice from HubSpot, and whether you can reclaim it, before you finalise the budget.
Which Plan Fits Which South African Team?
Free suits one or two users, Starter suits small seat-based teams, Sales Hub Professional suits teams needing advanced workflows, and Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise suits teams that email a sizeable contact list. The table maps each situation to a plan, using the prices above.
| Your situation | Plan to price first | Rand cost to plan for (R16.42/USD) | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 people, a short deal list | Free | R0 | The 2-user cap |
| A small sales team with a simple process | Starter | about R115 per seat per month at the $7 rate | The $7 rate may be a limited-time new-customer offer |
| A sales team that needs advanced workflows | Sales Hub Professional | about R1,478 per seat per month plus R24,630 onboarding | Year one runs about R2,053 a month above year two |
| A marketing function running email to 2,000 contacts | Marketing Hub Professional | R13,136 per month plus R49,260 onboarding | Price of extra contacts; mark non-marketing contacts |
| 10,000 or more marketing contacts | Marketing Hub Enterprise | from R59,112 per month plus R114,940 onboarding | The size of the year-one commitment |
Takeaway: Match the Plan to Headcount and Contacts
The cheapest HubSpot plan is the one whose limits fit your team: users for Sales Hub, marketing contacts for Marketing Hub. Moving from per-seat Starter to Marketing Hub Professional changes the scale of the commitment, because it adds a monthly fee in the thousands of Rand and a required onboarding fee.
If your honest answer is that you only need email and a pipeline for a handful of people, price the free tier and Starter first. HubSpot Marketing Hub pricing only pays back when someone is running the campaigns, so check our HubSpot vs Mailchimp comparison if email is the main use.

Who This Is Not For
This post prices published plans, and three groups of readers should look elsewhere.
Teams that need a fixed Rand quote. The figures here are list prices converted at an index assumption. Only a written quote shows what you will actually be billed, in which currency and with what taxes.
Buyers comparing features, not cost. This post does not test any HubSpot feature hands-on. Trial the free tier before paying for anything.
Large enterprises with negotiated contracts. Enterprise and multi-hub deals are quoted individually, and the list prices above will not match what a procurement team negotiates.
